For sometime now I've been interested in doing something similar to
the Dum group over at CSTM (defunct link).

Have a regular group of players we meet each week for a few hours and level up characters together, and only play that character with the group, so we all stay at the same level.

We would focus on the epics, group instances, skirmishes, deeding, TP farming, etc. Our regular alts would keep us geared and fed. Being the OCD type that I am, I have all the crafting guilds taken care of.

Obviously we need to figure out who is going to play what classes so we can have a decent group balance.

There is also nothing preventing multiple groups from forming, or across kins. Consider this thread a meeting ground.

Reply with the following:
1) When you can play in Eastern Standard Time.

2) What you want to play

For me:
Sundays are my most flexible day and I can play pretty much whatever works for the group.

During the week: Monday or Tuesday night works best from 8pm to 11pm

Classes for me: I'd like to try my hand as a mini or a guardian.

*** Update 3/17/2014 ***

Great first run everyone!

Targets for next week:
Get up to lvl 20 and have the skirmish intro done.

Epic quests done up to Vol 1, Book 1, Chapter 7. We should be able to do Othrongroth as a group.

Next session is Monday 6/30 @ 8 PM EST

Level range: 47-50.

Have Volume II, Book 1, Chapter 14: Kazad-dum at Last completed. You should have your legendary items, pages and Thorin's Hall kindred rep or a goat by now. If you don't let me know and I'll help you get them.

A little bird told me that Lilberri has an image problem and would like to improve it by taking out the 'Leaders of the Invasion' to show she is truly innocent, that unfortunate occurrence with the jewels was a total misunderstanding. Finphord also mentioned to me that he has a confidence problem but he assures me that a visit to Ivar's crypt is all he needs for a boost. He thinks it can be found in the barrows at Garth Agarwen.

If you have any deeds you would like help with post it in this thread. Since 80% of success is showing up, those who are here every week will be given priority, Spaldrad I'm looking at you! I don't think you've missed a single session yet.

Let me introduce you to an associate of mine Nirrol, he is a 1st lvl Captain that I am sponsoring. He shall serve the group to the best of his abilities while learning his role as El Capitano.

Blessings to all this day,
Zephrum

P.S. I live a fluid life so name the time and place and I shall show up. I played AD&D the original the way I view LOTRO is the kitchen table I used to play on is now as big as the world and I do not have to paint my miniatures to looked good. ;-))

I'd be interested in that too. Sundays would work great, and a monday or tuesday would be fine, though i can't always guarantee those times. and I think I'd start up a tank for this.

I wish I could join you all, but I don't think I would be able to commit to a certain time to play. I never know when I will be able to get online, I just get on whenever I find the time.

Unfortunately I will not be participating because I wouldn't want you guys to spend most of your time waiting for me when I'm the only one in the group not online.

Thanks,

Jak

The Fun Fellowship of Frodo's Friends is Formed

We have the following players who are creating alts:
Tess - Burg
Wild - Hunter
Olanath - Guard
Thrainik - Mini (or another if needed)
Zephrum/Nirrol - Cappy
Fearlessness - Let me know what you want to play

Our first play session will be March 17th 8-10 pm EST. If that time does not work for you let me know ASAP!

You should have your alt through the start area and ready to go by then.

Maybe get through the Prologue individually and meet at the Prancing Pony?

Any questions? Ask in the forum thread so we can all benefit.

I think if we have at least four able to play on any particular day we should continue playing. We can use this thread to let each other know if someone can't play on a particular session because of life getting in the way.

The person who misses a session has a week to get caught up, so I don't think missing a session here and there is a problem. more than that then we need to rethink things.

Where are you going on vacation Olanath?

Thanks for starting up this fellowship group Thrainik ! There is something about running around the lands in a large group that is exhilarating. That is one thing I miss about Great River and is what made that zone so much fun.

I like that we are open to different activities...sometimes deeding, sometimes skirming/instancing. Variety is good!

Last night was a blast! We started deeding the spiders in Archet, moved on to the brigands in Chetwood, then the sickle flies/breekers in Midgewater Marsh, ending up in the Barrows, rescuing Lalia and confronting menacing spirits. Along the way we did some explorer deeds and - most importantly - shared some laughs.

Lilberri went from level 8 to level 17 last night :)

It is a most auspicious beginning that our starting number is.....9!
Finphord - Thrainik
Lilberri - Tessar
Nirrol - Zephrum
Benchwarmer - Rendering
Catbug - Scoot
Tankrock - Hangrock
Spaldrad - Gudren
Leafsilk - Neradess
? - Olanath's toon.

Nine Friends against Sauron's Nine Foes.

Well met this day I to enjoyed the first meeting of our group. As we get higher levels it will be easier to stay in close leveling with each other so we can keep to where we play these characters only on Monday nights and not have to catch up during the week except those that have to miss do to RL. As a role player I like how it was just like a bunch sitting around a big table playing our characters to get them so we can do the bigger quests. I look forward to next weeks session with glee.

Fare thee well this week
Nirrol
